Directed Technologies inks new partnership to bring OEM-embedded truck data into SafetyCulture platform
Tech giant signs first-ever telematics partnership integrating vehicle data with workplace operations
Australian-owned connected vehicle innovator, Directed Technologies, has partnered with global workplace operations and improvement platform, SafetyCulture, to bring OEM-embedded vehicle data into its platform for the first time in a mission to improve fleet safety and compliance.
The integration combines Directed’s e.things™ cloud-based telematics platform with SafetyCulture’s widely used operations management software, making it easier for teams to access real-time truck data and trigger safety checks, maintenance workflows, and compliance alerts in one place.
Fleet managers today often juggle disconnected systems and manual processes to manage safety and compliance, leading to inefficiencies and missed risks. This partnership changes that for fleet managers who can now connect vehicle performance data directly into SafetyCulture – bridging the gap between on-road and frontline operations
This marks the first time SafetyCulture has partnered with a Tier 1 OEM telematics provider, representing a major step forward in the convergence of connected vehicle intelligence and workplace safety systems. Directed’s telematics data is sourced directly from factory-fit, embedded hardware within major OEM fleets such as PACCAR and Hino, ensuring the highest levels of data accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
“This is a powerful combination that simplifies how fleets operate,” said Mark Whitmore, Senior Vice President Global Sales and Customer Growth, at Directed Technologies. “By integrating SafetyCulture into the e.things Marketplace, we’re empowering our OEM partners and customers with a seamless way to connect vehicle data to broader workplace systems. It’s a scalable, low-touch solution that accelerates deployment and improves outcomes across the board.”
The new integration allows fleet managers to automate the flow of vehicle insights – such as fault codes, performance anomalies or usage data – directly into SafetyCulture’s platform. This helps operations teams act faster on risks, trigger preventative workflows, and proactively manage compliance across both people and assets.
“This collaboration is about turning telematics data into real-time, actionable insights across the workplace,” said Tom Cooper, Managing Director, Assets and Telematics, SafetyCulture.
“By connecting factory-embedded vehicle data with the SafetyCulture platform, we’re giving fleet operators new visibility and control at the intersection of transport and frontline operations. It’s another step forward in our mission to digitise the tools teams need to make better, faster decisions.”
The solution is especially valuable for industries where fleet and frontline operations intersect, including transport and logistics, construction, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
Key Benefits of the Combined Solution Include:
- Automated Real-time connection between vehicle data and operational safety workflows
- Automated inspections, alerts and task assignment based on telematics insights
- Easier compliance tracking through a centralised platform
- Faster speed-to-deployment via the e.things Marketplace
- Enhanced support for OEM partners and multi-industry fleets
- High-quality telematics data direct from factory-fit embedded hardware.
